The dA Music Video Night | Saturday, January 19, 2013, 7:00 pm – 10:00pm

The dA Center for the Arts seeks submissions of music videos completed during 2012 for its first Music Video Night. This event will showcase new music videos created by local emerging filmmakers and musicians.  The dA Music Video Night will be presented as part of the center’s Concert Series, and is scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the dA Center for the Arts in Pomona, CA.


Narrative: An original video that follows a narrative structure, i.e. tells a story.

Non-Narrative: An original video that does not follow a traditional narrative structure, including avant-garde and experimental videos.

Animated:  An original video utilizing hand drawn, computer, or stop motion animation.

Live: An original video shot and recorded during a single live performance.


Submissions must be a video, between 2 and 10 minutes in length, which was created as a visual representation of a song.

Submissions be completed between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.

You may submit more than one video, but each entry must be accompanied by its own completed letter of submission and DVD (if applicable).

High school level submissions will be considered.   Please include the name of your school and grade level in the letter of submission.

The dA does not guarantee submitted music videos will be selected for this event.

Selected filmmakers must deliver entries to the dA by Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm. No exceptions will be permitted.

Please note: Filmmakers and musicians entering videos into this event must possess the legal rights to submit AND screen their work. The dA is not responsible for clearing publishing, performance or other rights for the music videos it reviews, screens, showcases on its site or otherwise utilizes for publicity.


Submission must be accompanied by a letter of submission, and must include 1) music video category, 2) filmmaker’s name, 3) contact email and phone number, 4) band or musician’s name, 5) song title, and 6) run-time.

High school students only: Please include the name of your school and grade level.

Email: Please email letter of submission and video link to with the title dA MUSIC VIDEO NIGHT/ (Your name: Title of video). Please include the letter of submission in the body of the email. Emails with attachments will not be considered.

Mail: Please mail letter of submission and music video file on a CD to The dA Concert Series (attention: The dA Music Video Night), 252-D South Main Street, Pomona CA 91766.

In-Person: Please bring letter of submission and music video file on a CD to The dA Center for the Arts during gallery hours.   The dA is open from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.

  • Please note that the deadline is not a postmark deadline, but the date by which your film MUST be received at dA.


  • Music Video selections will be made by The dA Music Video Night Selection Committee.
  • Preference will be given to residents of Southern California.
  • All filmmakers will be notified of acceptance via email.
